Saint Francis de Sales Parish Mission Statement:
Saint Francis de Sales is a Catholic community that celebrates a Living and a Risen Christ. Our union and strength comes from the celebration of the sacraments. Our source and summit is on the Holy Mass celebrated with the respect and reverence that its sacrosanctity requires.
We believe in the fully continuation with the twice millenarian liturgical tradition of the Church available to the faithful in the freshness of a healthy renovation. Our goal is the sanctification of all our members for this reason our guide of life is nourished by a faithful obedience to the Magistracy of the Pope and the bishops in communion with him.
As part of Christ’s body, we feel as ours the needs and pains of this very suffering Body especially in the poor, the sick and the immigrants, as well as in all sinners to whom through conversion we invite to let themselves be embraced by God’s mercy.
Our joy lies in doing our part with simplicity of heart but with passion in the Church’s mission. This mission consists in drawing all men and women to Christ in the fullness of the faith of the only Church. In this Church we offer to God the worship that pleases him as we wait in joyful hope for his coming in glory.

“Why Should I Go To Church?”
Wednesday May 16th 2012 at 7:00 PM
St. Francis De Sales Church,
10201 S Ewing Ave, Chicago, Illinois
Presented By
Father John Cusick
Director, Young Adult Ministry Office -Archdiocese of Chicago
(Sponsored by the Parish Representatives of Deanery VI-C)
If and when someone asks you, “Why should I go to Church?” how would you respond?
What would you say? This question might be asked by your own kids, young people you know or teach, or even your own peers. Also, it is a question we ourselves have asked on occasion. Why should I? As Mass attendance continues to decline, it is becomingly increasingly more important that this question be addressed and clearly answered. Fr. John Cusick will do exactly that on May 16th. Parents, bring your kids along with you or any people of various ages who would benefit from knowing the importance of Catholic Mass in their own lives. Too often today, spiritually hungry people have not been told why regular participation at Mass is so important for them.
Young Adults (single and married, 18-39) are invited but all ages are welcome to come and experience this fantastic talk! Beverages and refreshments will be provided.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mr. Terry Shelley at: 708-756-9752.
